The Lowdown
Sunshine, beaches, and life in the entertainment capital of the world. LA has everything- great culture, delicious food, stunning beaches, sunsets, and the buzz of a city that wants to entertain. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it here in LA.
Where to Stay
With 3 locations in the Venice Beach area (and one in Santa Monica), Outsite (click for $50 off your first stay) is definitely the go-to for co-living and co-working. There are lots of things to explore in the Venice area- art and culture, the beautiful Venice canals, great restaurants, the Abbot Kinney shopping strip, and of course the beach. You can also take a stroll along the beach down to the Santa Monica Pier.
Los Angeles is a city built for cars, so most people drive or take an Uber (don’t ever take a cab- they’re way more expensive than Uber or Lyft). Public transportation is limited, and it can take hours to get to another part of the city. Because of this, it is advisable to stay in the area closest to most sights you’d like to explore. Every area and neighbourhood of LA is unique and has a style all its own. If you have a car you can explore other areas, but make sure to plan lots of commute time between destinations.

Where to Work
Outsite also has workspaces in every one of their locations- it’s a great place to get things done, whether you’re set up in the house or in the yard working on your tan while you catch up on those emails. The Wifi is solid, and Outsite provides everything you need.
If you’re looking for more of a traditional, shared office space, WeWork has several locations in Santa Monica, Venice, and the rest of LA, but they require a minimum one-month commitment. WeWork has over 600 locations in over 100 cities around the world, so you can put your membership to use in other locations as well. You can pick up a membership here (one month free on an annual membership).

Where to Eat
Felix has some of the best pasta bowls found in LA, and to make it even better, you can watch it being handmade in a climate-controlled room in the middle of the restaurant. For dessert, hit up Salt & Straw for some interesting specials (buttered mashed potato for Thanksgiving?) or the classics like chocolate chip cookie dough.
Other hotspots that might just become instant classics include Venice Ramen, Superba Food + Bread, the healthy and delicious Great White, or Gjusta bakery and restaurant for a delicious breakfast (or lunch and dinner!).

Where to Play
There are endless options for entertainment in LA, from cruising the palm-lined streets to hanging out at the beaches, to music and cultural events, and so much more. Griffith Park is a great place for a hike, and to watch the sunrise or sunset. After dark, you can check out the planets from their telescopes, and also marvel at the endless lights of LA from above.
Joshua Tree National Park is a stellar day trip (and an even shorter drive from Encinitas, if you end up staying there.) Joshua Tree is excessively warm for hiking in the summer months, so it’s best to go in the other seasons or plan on going in the evening.
Of course, what’s a visit to LA without taking in some of Hollywood’s best? Grab a Hollywood or city tour with Starline Tours or visit one of the four active movie lots that are open to the public (Sony, Warner Brothers, Paramount Studios, and Universal Studios). Oh yeah, there’s also a place called Disneyland.
Download Krugo App before you go, which lists all the music, arts, and sports events in the area for your travel dates.

What You’ll Need
You’ll definitely want to have the Uber or Lyft app installed if you don’t have a car- with such a sprawling city, even the locals are Uber and Lyft power users.
How to Get There
Fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)- from the airport, it’s a very short drive to Venice. You can grab an Uber, Lyft, or rent a car. Don’t hire a cab, as they tend to be much more expensive.
